Before you subscribe

One game matters most? Check it first.

Sports rights change by season and area, and blackout rules can apply. If you're subscribing for a particular team, game or fight, tell us what it is and we'll tell you honestly whether it's expected to be available.

  • Following a whole season

Wants every game from preseason to the playoffs.

A 6- or 12-month plan costs least per month across a season.

  • Watching one big event

Only needs a single tournament, playoff run or fight night.

Check the event with us, and a 1-month plan may be all you need.

A checklist for a smooth live picture

Fast-moving sports are the hardest thing for any home network. Ten minutes of preparation pays off when the whole crew is on the couch.

  • Wire the main TV with an Ethernet cable, MoCA or powerline adapter.
  • Restart your router and device an hour before, not at halftime.
  • Pause big downloads, console updates and cloud backups.
  • Tune in ten minutes early so the stream is settled by kickoff or tip-off.
  • Use "Standard" or "Sports" picture mode with low motion smoothing for fast action.

Questions

Sports questions

Can you guarantee a specific game?

We don't promise individual games in advance, because rights, schedules and blackout rules change. Ask us about a game before you subscribe and we'll give you the most accurate answer we can, in writing.

Is there a delay compared with cable?

Internet streams usually run a little behind traditional broadcasts, as with most streaming services. If friends are texting live updates, you may want to mute the group chat.

Will sports be in HD?

Many sports channels are available in HD. A wired connection and 5 GHz Wi-Fi make the most of the picture during fast action.

Are pay-per-view fights included?

Pay-per-view events are handled differently from regular channels. Ask us about a specific event before relying on it.
